Hill School's Sweitzer Establishes Creative Youth Foundation

· From pages 18 of the print edition

Confidence, self-realization and happiness are Tom Sweitzer's goals for his new Creative Youth Foundation.

"After teaching and directing youth in the theater for more than a decade, I have learned that the performing arts can have an immensely positive impact on young people," Sweitzer said. "It is my hope that the Creative Youth Foundation will offer programs for young people as well as provide funding, if needed, for them to pursue artistic study."

Sweitzer, who is artistic director of The Hill School, has been overwhelmed by the support he has received from the community of Middleburg and his hometown of Altoona, Pennsylvania.

The Foundation's first fundraiser, "The Creativity Begins," will take place Saturday, November 6th, at 8 pm in The Sheila C. Johnson Performing Arts Center at The Hill School. Tickets are $25, and seating is limited.

Individuals wishing to help establish the Foundation may contribute $1,000 as a Creative Producer; $500 as a Creative Director; $250 as a Creative Actor; $100 as a Creative Audience Member or $10 as a Creative Friend.

Checks should be made to Creative Youth Theater Foundation, P.O. Box 1472, Middleburg, Virginia 20118.

All contributions are tax deductible.
