Charles Jones of Leesburg, April Steffler of Warrenton, and Emily Berg of Winchester, were named Commended Students in the 2005 National Merit Scholarship Program. All three are seniors at Notre Dame Academy in Middleburg.

Commended Students place among the top five percent of more than one million students who entered the 2005 competition by taking the 2003 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
