It's Not Your Father's Way of Banking!

· From pages 22 of the print edition

On November 4th, Middleburg Bank officially opened its new Reston Financial Center, marking the Bank's first location outside Loudoun County. Currently, Middleburg Bank has six branches in Loudoun County and plans to open another Financial Center in neighboring Fauquier County next year.

Already enjoying a reputation for delivering the best personal service around, Middleburg Bank is taking its service model to a higher level, going beyond a familiar smile, pleasant small talk and penchant for remembering customers' names. The culture is further evolving to one that more heavily emphasizes helping clients choose appropriate financial products based on their lifelong financial goals. The layout of the new Reston Financial Center reflects this strategy.

Joe Boling, CEO of Middleburg Bank, commented, "In the Reston Financial Center, we've created an atmosphere where clients can relax and more deliberately discuss strategies for achieving financial aspirations. They don't have to stand in a teller line. Instead, we can sit down in front of the fire and talk over a good cup of coffee. It seems like a new idea, but it really harkens back to the service traditions of a past era. It's certainly what customers deserve, and it's how we'll continue to build our reputation for unmatched personal service."

Indeed the new Reston Financial Center is not your ordinary bank branch. There are no traditional teller stations inside. Instead, there are executive desks. You won't find the typical transaction preparation counter looming in the middle of the lobby either. Instead, a cozy seating area frames an oversized fireplace flanked by a gourmet coffee and pastry bar. Even when you enter the Center, it quickly becomes apparent that something is different, as a concierge seated behind a mahogany desk greets you and your eye is drawn to the large plasma TV above the fireplace broadcasting important financial news.

Middleburg Bank will eventually apply the new Financial Center layout and service philosophy to current branches as well as all new ones.
