Middleburg Antique Emporium
If you're hunting for antiques, there's a store in Middleburg where you'll have forty-five sets of eyes helping you in your quest. Lesley Clark and her partner Roger Mason have created an antiques "mall" at 107 W. Washington Street.
"We have 45 professional dealers who are selected for the quality of items they sell." Lesley added, "Our goal is to offer quality items for fair and reasonable prices."
The neat and orderly store is large and on two levels, brightly lit and stocked with a changing inventory that includes prints, maps and books, English porcelain (lots of Staffordshire and Meissen), furniture (mainly formal styles) from England, France, Europe and America. There are long case (grandfather) and mantel clocks, silver, sporting antiques, lamps and chandeliers, jewelry and lots more.
Lesley and husband John were born in England and lived in South Africa until six years ago when they opened the Emporium with Roger and Susie Mason. Lesley has been buying antiques for over 20 years, and travels to England 3 - 4 times a year. "I look for the very unusual and unique antiques you don't often see."
Leslie and sales associate Shelley Chadwick provide a range of services. "We offer shopping services, work with interior designers, and will locate particular items for customers. I also offer an antique decorating service, do appraisals by appointment, and ship all over the world. Just recently we sent a dining room table to England."
In one corner of the lower level there's a dealer with old fly fishing rods and creels, duck decoys, fish prints, and tin soldiers - so guys, you won't just be holding your wife's purse in the Middleburg Antique Emporium.
