Santangelo & Sandridge - All Work For Our Pleasure

· By Steven Schwartz · From pages 38, 39 of the print edition

A new high fashion store just opened in Middleburg, a town where casual is king and millionaires climb out of mud-covered pickups dressed in blue jeans. What the stores' partners Georgia Santangelo Derrico and Linda Sandridge know well is that when fashion-forward folks head down to Florida or just go out on the town, they want to look their best. Santangelo & Sandridge is here to make sure you can find exactly what you're looking for right here and save the trip to Tysons.

The store knocks your socks off the second you walk in the door. Gilded columns, rich woods, and lighting that make even this reporter look presentable. For those who remember the kitchen store, you won't believe the size of this store! Room after room filled with clothing, then up a black marble staircase to galleries filled with elegant antiques. The clothing is beautifully presented and if you get a little tired from your shopping, there's a coffee bar/lounge area where you can rejuvenate.

Georgia's family is from Italy, and has an Italian connection with Davide Cenci, the largest fashion store in Rome. This ensures that Santangelo & Sandridge will always have not only Italian designers - Livio de Simone from Naples and Capri, Le Full from XXX, Etro, Pucci, but other names like St. John's knits, Barbara Bui (France) and Vivienne Westwood from England.

Linda was the Senior Commercial Lender and Georgia the Chairman & CEO at Southern Financial Bank, where they worked together for nearly 18 years and shared a passionate interest in fashion; they've decided to live their dream of opening a high fashion store.

"We're here for people accustomed to shopping in New York, Rome and Milan," says Linda, "Now when they come to Middleburg, they will find the same quality of clothing from designers they know."

Linda adds, "We're so glad to be here; the people of Middleburg have made us feel welcome. Both my partner and I have been here for a long time, so it's really nice to see old friends."

Now open for business, come see for yourself. Santangelo & Sandridge will have their Grand Opening on November 3rd and 4th.
