This year marks the 85th Anniversary of Armfield, Harrison & Thomas, Inc. (AH&T), an employee-owned, independent insurance brokerage and consultancy founded in 1921. Reflecting on its achievements and rich history, AH&T enthusiastically embraces this special anniversary and looks forward to more great years ahead.

During the last eight and a half decades, AH&T has experienced constant growth, demonstrated eager community leadership, pioneered valuable client services and stayed true to its core values, even through world wars, failing national economies and dynamic market trends. The secret to AH&T's success, according to its President, Howard M. Armfield, is in its hiring and culture. "We have always sought dedicated, intelligent and ethical individuals who demonstrate great initiative, creative problem solving, and determination. We have also maintained a collaborative, supportive culture focused on delivering heroic customer service and quality. This is the winning combination that is behind our steady stream of achievement and our unwavering strength as an organization," said Armfield.

AH&T counts its support of Leesburg, Virginia and Loudoun County among its accomplishments. For the last 85 years AH&T has had its headquarters located within the two blocks that mark the heart of downtown Leesburg. It opened an office in Seattle, Washington, in 1999, and adds new employees to both offices monthly, but AH&T remains loyal to Leesburg. As Armfield puts it, "Our roots are in Leesburg and we take our role as a corporate citizen seriously. We support local schools and events, conduct an annual scholarship award, and host an annual charity event. In addition, many of our employees have held significant volunteer leadership positions in Loudoun County in areas ranging from helping the homeless to building new highways."

Planned activities this year include a monthly exhibit in AH&T's lobby displaying fun and interesting artifacts from its archives, monthly AH&T trivia contests for its employees, and a celebration later in the year.
