Armfield, Miller & Ripley Fine Properties Welcomes Karen Kaffke Harrell

· From pages 8 of the print edition

Long-time, US Trust Company senior officer Kathryn Kaffke Harrell has joined Armfield, Miller & Ripley Fine Properties, LLC in Middleburg. While with US Trust, Harrell was a senior vice president specializing in Private Banking in New York City and later in Washington DC and Tysons Corner. Her career was primarily spent advising and serving the financial needs of high networth clients with a specialty in real estate mortgage lending.

"I am delighted to have moved into the world of real estate in the Middleburg area," Harrell said. "The transition from Private Banking to real estate feels natural and the client base is similar. Living in Middleburg and my prior banking activities fostered my interest in local properties. I look forward to blending my business with the equestrian community."

Kathryn Harrell was born in Mendham, New Jersey and was raised in New Jersey, Connecticut and Ohio. She received a B.A. in French and English from Mount Holyoke. Her husband Edward "Bert" Harrell is an executive in commercial real estate with CB Richard Ellis. Kathryn moved to Northern Virginia in 2001 and to Middleburg full time in 2004. Kathryn enjoys competing in the hunter/jumper divisions in horse shows in the region.

"We are so pleased to have Kathryn Harrell with us for the benefit of our clients and our agents," Gloria Armfield said. "Kathryn's in-depth experience in finance and her knowledge about the properties in our area will be invaluable to all who work with her."
