Levis Hill House To Honor Long-Time Friend

· From pages 2 of the print edition

The Board of Directors of the Windy Hill Foundation is pleased to announce that their next project in Middleburg, a 20-unit apartment for elderly residents, will be named in honor of long-time friend and community leader John Levis, Jr.

"John was one of the earliest board members recruited by Rene Llewellyn," said Charter Board member Ed Wright. "Rene wouldn't take 'no' for an answer, " said Wright, "but John was eager to say 'yes.'"

"John provided time, moral support, and financial support throughout the last 25 years," said Windy Hill Past President, Kim Hart. "John was the first, with the Washburns, to sponsor one of the new duplexes at Virginia Lane and the first to sponsor a unit at the new elderly project," said Hart.

The Windy Hill Board was unanimous in voting to name the new project after John Levis. "We are thrilled that we can put John's name on the main street of Middleburg forever," said Board President Joe Boling. "It is a fitting tribute to a friend who gave so much to Middleburg and did is so quietly that hardly anyone ever knew."
