Notre Dame Academy Seniors, Nominated for United States Naval Academy Admission

· From pages 20 of the print edition

Matt Greenwood of Fairfax, VA and Lamont Johnson of Oak Hill, VA, both seniors at Notre Dame Academy, have received nominations from Congressman Frank R. Wolf to apply to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.

The nomination process begins in the Fall of each school year. Each member of Congress is allowed five appointees in each service academy at any one time. Nominations are based on the students' academic records, extracurricular and community activities, test scores, as well as letters of recommendation from individuals in and out of the school community. Each service academy selects their incoming freshman class from the outstanding students who have received nominations from Members of Congress and/or the Vice President of the United States.
