In a year in which we've all heard plenty about national and state candidates for office, the noise level might easily drown out the fact that this is also an important election year for Middleburg.

Our mayor, Betsy Davis, is running unopposed. But there are three vacant seats on our Town Council and four candidates from which to choose.

Our only request to readers who can vote in the Middleburg election, is that they do so.

Issues of importance, some large, some small, but all of significance to some of us will be on the Town Council agenda during the next four years. This is your opportunity to ensure that there is a council member who accurately reflects your perspective and concerns when the votes are taken.

Please make time to visit the Town Office on Marshall Street May 6th to vote.
