Foxcroft Student is National Eventing Champion: Kate Aldrich wins Wellpride AEC Junior Training level title
Kate Aldrich, a 17-year-old senior at Foxcroft School, and her mount, William Don't Tell, posted the top dressage score and than had clear rides on the cross-country and stadium jumping phases in early September to claim the Junior Level title at the Wellpride American Eventing Championships, held in Wayne, IL. Kate, who rides for Foxcroft's Equitation and Eventing teams, posted her best dressage score ever, an outstanding 24.7, before the rains came. Despite a half-hour hold just before their cross-country ride and rain during the jumping competition, Aldrich and Will completed the contest cleanly for her first national championship. A graduate of the Hill School in Middleburg, Aldrich is an Honor Roll student, captain of the riding team that was Reserve Champion of the Tri-State Equitation League last year, and serves in various leadership roles at the nationally-renown girls' boarding and day preparatory school. She is the daughter of David and Jennifer Aldrich of Huntly, VA.
