Kimberly O'Donnell has specialized in accounting since 1997. One and a half years ago, she took the term 'small town CPA' to a new level when she decided to branch out on her own. She founded O'Donnell & Co., LLC with the goal: "to provide high quality tax and accounting services at a reasonable rate in the quaint town of Middleburg."

Finding the right answers for the diversity of her client situations provides a great sense of accomplishment. "I'm a small firm and being able to give the clients personalized service is very important to me," says O'Donnell. "This doesn't mean we can take on every client that comes our way. My goal is to keep it very personal so that I can stay in touch with the clients – with what's going on in their financial lives."

What O'Donnell offers – above and beyond the sophisticated software available for people trying to track their finances or fill out that 1040 or Schedule C Profit and Loss – is knowing her clients and being able to utilize all the legal strategies to reduce their tax liabilities – be it through depreciation, a retirement plan or just ferreting out a deductible expense that might be overlooked.

As a board member for the Middleburg Business and Professional Association, O'Donnell helps promote the local businesses through encouraging participation in the monthly "Biz Buzz" mixers and special events in town.

O'Donnell's enthusiasm for her task carries over into her personal life: she is an avid supporter of rural lifestyles and enjoys the thrill of the chase – on paper and in the field.
