Members of the Board of Directors of The Mosby Heritage Area Association have announced that Cokie Roberts, national political commentator for ABC News and National Public Radio, will talk about her best-selling book, Ladies of Liberty, July 16th at Oak Hill, the lovely home of President James Monroe and his wife, Elizabeth.

Scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., the limited seating event will begin with a tour of the famed Oak Hill gardens, will continue with Roberts' discussion in the garden and will conclude with a book signing and light refreshments.

Roberts is well known for her interest in the heroic women whose patriotism, heroism and sacrifice helped create the new nation. In Ladies of Liberty, she presents a colorful blend of biographical portraits and behind-the-scenes vignettes chronicling women's public roles and private responsibilities.

Admission to this benefit for the Mosby Heritage Area Association is $100 and dress is summer casual.

The event is made possible by the generosity of Thomas and Gayle de Lashmutt, the stewards of James Monroe's Oak Hill.
