Stone Spring Medical Center Supported

· From pages 5, 6 of the print edition

On April 5, Tracey White, Vice President of Community & Government Relations with Hospital Corporation of America's Capital Division asked for Middleburg's support of a special exception application that will be reviewed in a public hearing before the County Planning Commission on April 28 and the Board of Supervisors on May 10th.

HCA is seeking approval for a fourstory, one hundred sixty-four bed hospital, in a 337,000 square foot facility on Route 50 at Gum Springs Road, for which zoning has already been approved.

The resolution of support passed with a four-one-one vote. Council member Snyder opposed the motion, noting that he favored the hospital, but was not comfortable supporting a special exception application for a private business, especially since he was not aware of all of the terms of the application.
