Long & Foster Gives Back for Fourteenth Year

· From pages 6 of the print edition

More than 175 Long & Foster sales offices throughout the Mid-Atlantic region including the headquarters staff in Chantilly, Va., met recently to participate in the company's annual Community Service Day.

Thousands of Long & Foster sales associates and employees rolled up their sleeves and applied their talents to work on-site at parks, schools, shelters, homes and day care centers, helping local organizations with everything from property maintenance to fundraising efforts.

"The dedicated Long & Foster sales associates and employees look forward to our annual company wide event because it gives all of us an opportunity to spend some time supporting the communities that mean so much to us," says P. Wesley Foster Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of The Long & Foster® Companies.

"Now the 14th year this has been an important part of the Long & Foster culture, Community Service Day allows the entire Long & Foster team to roll up our sleeves and get involved, and always leaves us with a tremendous sense of satisfaction."

Projects this year vary greatly by region and include collecting donations for tornado victims, delivering non-perishable food items to food pantries, serving meals at homeless shelters, raising money for animal shelters, doing yard work for community centers and engaging in the building efforts of Habitat for Humanity.

"I am so proud of this commitment Long & Foster associates have for their communities, which is demonstrated every day, but in particular on our annual Community Service Day," Foster added.
