Fauquier Health Welcomes New Doctors
Fauquier Health recently welcomed an endocrinologist to its family of healthcare providers. Lida Tabatabaeian, M.D., is operating Fauquier Health Endocrinology, providing care to those with diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, lipid disorders, osteoporosis, pituitary disease, adrenal disease, thyroid cancer, bone and mineral diseases and hypogonadism.
Being able to provide ongoing care was one of the main reasons Dr. Tabatabaeian chose endocrinology as her specialty field. "Endocrinology is something I've been drawn to since my early days in medical school," she says. "I like the science behind it; I also like that it requires a lot of patient interaction."
Dr. Tabatabaeian's holistic approach to care will also fit nicely with Fauquier Health's patient-centered Planetree model of care. "I try to see patients as a whole," she explains. "I always apply the most up-to-date research to manage treatment, but the most appropriate plan for one individual may not work for another. That's why I need to understand a patient's comprehensive health condition."
Diabetes is one of the most common diseases that affects the endocrine system, and Dr. Tabatabaeian says a holistic approach works really well to treat the disease. "Diabetes is a complicated, multi-factor disease. Many social, economical, cultural, environmental and genetic factors contribute to the disease, and these factors cannot be overlooked."
Dr. Tabatabaeian may be reached at 540-316-5940.
Fauquier Health is pleased to announce the addition of a new family medicine physician. Ana Born, M.D., has joined Drs. Diane King and Kevin Tate at Fauquier Health Family Practice at Bealeton (formerly Fauquier Medical Associates).
As a family practice physician, Dr. Born is passionate about a variety of medical specialty areas, including women's health and pediatrics. "Kids are wonderful," Dr. Born says. "Being able to treat them always brings a smile to my face. And women have a unique niche of their own, so I enjoy being able to help them with their particular needs as well."
Dr. Born also has a passion for working with patients from varying cultures. Her desire to work with immigrants stems from her early upbringing and educational pursuits. Born and raised for a time in Puerto Rico, Dr. Born is fluent in Spanish. She's also looking forward to partnering with local families. "I love kids and I love adults. In order to treat both effectively, I prefer to do it within the context of their lives, environments and families. That's the reason I chose family medicine. By treating the whole family, I can do a better job of treating the disease process, which makes families healthier."
Fauquier Health Family Practice at Bealeton is located at 6200 Station Drive in Bealeton. The physicians may be reached at 540-439-8100.
