Film Festival

· From pages 10 of the print edition

Chief Panebianco reported that from a security and traffic flow perspective Middleburg Film Festival was a success, commending the Town staff and his officers who, he said, "worked just as hard as the Film Festival's staff" to make the event work well.

Panebianco expressed concern that the Halloween date set for next year's event would not work well for his department, and that he hoped the date could be changed.

He also reminded Council that the cost of the Film Festival was not projected in the Town's budget. He estimated that the festival cost his department an extra $3,700, which he was able to reduce to $2,700 in out-of-pocket costs by shifting his officers' regular schedules. The cost did not reflect his own time, he said, given that he is not paid for overtime.
