BCT Cares 2022 Pack the 'Pack: 5000 Backpacks Filled with Food

· From pages 3 of the print edition

While difficult to believe, there is a great need in our local communities. This article discusses food-insecure families. According to the "outside of school, many local children do not have access to food, jeopardizing their immediate health and long-term mental development.

BCT Cares wants to help provide funds for the necessary food to feed these children during summer break and school-year weekends.

Due to initiations times, the potting effort supports up to $10, enough to feed about six to 10 less than some fast food lunches. Our four backpack charity partners (listed below) find their greatest need during summer due to depleted inventories. This is why Pack the "Pack runs during July and August each year, to help replenish their food inventories to serve summer-break needs as well as stocking up for Fall terms. When the campaign rolls around, project converts its efforts by providing a donation 3-pack 3-pack, both local branches or donating online when we make the DONATE NOW buttons available.
