Award-winning, local professional photographer Janie Gable Stockton of JGS Photography recently won first place in a National Baby & Child Photo Contest sponsored by Miller's Professional Imaging in Pittsburgh, Kansas.

Janie's winning portrait, a black and white image called "The Trips," was chosen as the best of show by a panel of judges certified by the National Professional Photographers of America.

"I'm excited to receive this honor. It couldn't have come at a better time as I prepare to open my new studio in Middleburg," said Stockton.

Although Janie does much of her work on location, the new studio will give her room for customized sets and backdrops. From naturally lit sets to elaborate fairy tale scenes, clients will be able to choose distinguished settings for their portraits.

A luxurious theater will be available for viewing and image selection as Janie works with clients on print selection and portrait size options.

The JGS Photography studio in downtown Middleburg, Virginia opens Tuesday, September 14th at 108 West Washington Street. Phone: 703-304-9014 or visit the website: www.jgsphotography.com.
