Santa Needs Helpers in August

· From pages 10 of the print edition

Middleburg's annual Christmas Parade is a landmark event for the Village and for children and adults for miles around. To ensure its continuing success, we need volunteers who are willing to help with many logistical and planning details that need to be organized and finalized this autumn.

Everyone who has seen the day-long festivities that kick-off with the Middleburg Hunt meeting at the Red Fox Inn and continue throughout the day with carolers, bagpipers and unicycles rolling down Washington Street knows what a perfect beginning this is to the holiday season.

Reggie Dawson of The Middleburg Bank and I are enthusiastic and honored to be asked to continue this wonderful tradition and we need your help.

We follow in the remarkable footsteps of Mayor Loyal McMillin, Tyler Gore, Col. Dudley Bunn and his wife, Sissy, who began the parade festivities in the Nation's bicentennial year; and William Brown and Robert Brown who, with their dedicated law office staff, have continued to take care of every delightful detail.

With your help over the next few months, we'll continue this holiday tradition in the grand style to which we have all become accustomed.

We need help in many areas, and we need to begin planning now, so join the team, get to know your neighbors and make a contribution to the community that will make you, your family and the community proud.

Let us know how you will help by phone, 540-687-3200 or by email, deedee@middleburgeccentric.com.
