Beginning September 26 Middleburg Baptist Church on East Federal Street will join a worldwide network of churches, spanning some 60 Christian denominations, engaging in a modern-day revival movement based on Rick Warren's best-selling book, The Purpose-driven Life.

The church's "40 Days of Purpose Campaign" will use weekly sermons, devotional readings, scripture memorization, and small-group lessons to promote what Warren has termed, "God's five purposes for people: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism.

Warren, described by Publisher's Weekly as the pastor of a Southern Baptist mega-church in southern California with weekly attendance of more than 15,000, has sold millions of copies of his book, a follow-up to an earlier work designed primarily for pastors, The Purpose-driven Church.
