Middleburg Humane Joins Katrina Relief Effort

· From pages 1 of the print edition

Middleburg Humane Foundation Volunteers left Friday, September 9th in a caravan of three trucks pulling horse trailers to rescue, help and provide sustenance for abandoned animals stranded by the flood. The team of trained volunteers took three tons of dog and cat food, 110 bales of hay, three tons of horse feed, medical supplies, water and everything needed to save and provide sustenance for animals in need. They hope to arrive in Mississippi Sunday and provide help wherever it is needed. Once their supplies are depleted, they plan to return to Middleburg with animals who need either temporary or permanent homes. The valiant volunteers include Hillary Bogley, who helped establish the Middleburg Humane Foundation, David Braun, Berkley Lee, Jim Furr, Katie Bean and Julio, all of whom deserve high praise and commendation.
