Dominion Files with SCC for Power Towers

· From pages 5 of the print edition

Dominion Energy has filed with the Virginia State Corporation Commission {SCC} to request permission to construct a 65-mile line of high-voltage power towers through Warren, Rappahannock, Culpepper, Fauquier, Prince William and Loudoun Counties along the existing transmission line rights-of-way. An alternate route is included in the application that parallels Interstate 66.

When public hearings are scheduled by the SCC, Dominion is required to publish that public hearing schedule in local newspapers. A report including testimony at the public hearings will then be submitted to three SCC commissioners who will decide the fate of the proposed power towers.

The application is available now on Dominion's website and will soon be available on the SCC website. Public hearing dates will be posted online at www.NoPowerTowers.org and at www.EnergyPolicies.org.

To register your opinion on Dominion's proposed power towers, please address your opinion to State Corporation Commission, PO Box 1197, Richmond, Virginia 23218; Telephone 800 552 7945.
