· By Shelley Duke · From pages 4 of the print edition

On a truly beautiful late summer day at Holly Hill Farm in Middleburg, a glamorous crowd of generous individuals gathered to view the Fall Collections and support the Windy Hill Foundation at their sixth annual benefit luncheon and fashion show.

The kindness of owners Lang and Judy Washburn welcomed the standing-room-only audience to the stunningly beautiful and romantic estate as they arrived from the winding, tree-lined lane having driven past rolling countryside and swans posed perfectly on the serene pond.

A delicious luncheon included chilled strawberry-orange soup provided by Ruth's Private Caterers; and a delectable spinach salad with honey-mustard dressing and roasted filet of salmon courtesy of Jay Trier's Hidden Horse Tavern.

Fashions and accessories were from lou lou's and The Christmas Sleigh, and thanks went to dozens of supporters and contributors including Nick and Kate Vanoff who hosted last year's event and to Sandy Lerner of Ayrshire Farm who hosted the fashion show for three previous years. Special thanks went to Tri County Feed for their generous support.

Joy and Mark Smith of Lost Mountain Graphics provided project support, Jim Poston donated photographic coverage, Chris Sehn created the Silent Auction, dozens of volunteers gave untold hours of their time to make the event at success and to sincere gratitude was given to Sandy Atkins of Focus Wealth Management and Judy Casey of the Finicky Filly for the conception of the idea for the annual Fashion Show that is such a tremendous benefit the Windy Hill Foundation.

Mary Jo Jackson of the Windy Hill Foundation thanked everyone in attendance for supporting the organization's family development fund. "Your donations today will help us give deserving Middleburg citizens and families a chance to learn how to better run their lives," Jackson said. "Every dollar helps people in our community."
