James P. Atkins Joins Notre Dame Board
Notre Dame Academy, a college preparatory private school, announced that Middleburg's James P. Atkins has been elected to its Board of Trustees. Mr. Atkins is a former president of two corporations, a retired Marine Corps officer, and, currently, a realtor with Armfield, Miller, and Ripley Fine Properties.
"We are pleased that Jim has agreed to bring his business experience and local connections to our board", said Chris Clough, Board Chair. "Notre Dame's objective of preparing promising high school students for success in life is advanced by the guidance of people like Jim."
Atkins, a graduate of West Virginia University, served twenty one years in the Marine Corps and its Reserve as a fighter pilot, retired from Rockwell Collins, led Spectrum Signal Processing and BBJ Environmental Solutions, and was a vestryman of Middleburg's Emmanuel Episcopal Church. He and his wife, Sandra, live in Middleburg.
