Good Will to All
Gratitude, generosity and a peaceful countenance will be welcomed gifts by all as we celebrate Christmas and conclude a year that has been tumultuous at best. Signs of concern are as evident as traditional decorations this season.
Worried parents who long for their children to return from a war zone, harried home owners who were sold a bill of goods by greedy lenders, retailers who have a sinking feeling that gas prices may consume every dollar in their customers' pockets and youngsters who hope for long, cozy hours in front of the tree with their families all know their wishes may not come true, but they can't stop themselves from wishing.
We hope for improved perspectives for everyone this year and next. For strong, selfless leaders who put their constituents before themselves; for the courage and confidence to invest in the future of struggling families and children who simply won't make it to a productive adulthood without help; for wise, courageous individuals who take action to address desperation when they encounter it.
It's a lot to hope for, but without the will to make it happen, we'll lose the humanity we all need to make our way in the world.
