Back by popular demand… Cat-apalooza is returning to the Loudoun County Government Center every Tuesday in June! In honor of Adopt-a-Shelter Cat Month, cats and kittens from the Loudoun County Animal Shelter will be at the Loudoun County Government Center in Leesburg looking for new homes every Tuesday in June from 11am to 1pm.

Cats now outrank dogs as America's #1 pet, and it's easy to see why. They are affectionate, playful, and fun, and don't require as much daily maintenance as their canine counterparts. Cats are perfectly content to stay in bed on rainy mornings, and don't need to be walked for potty breaks! They can also be left alone for longer periods of time, and are happy to spend the day relaxing at home while you are at work.

Indoor cats are long time companions, and can live into their late teens or early twenties with proper veterinary care, good nutrition, and lots of TLC. They can learn to live with dogs and other cats, as well as human friends of all ages. And, the simple act of stroking a cat has been shown to reduce stress!

"I'm really looking forward to Cat-a-Palooza," says Mom, a 2 year old gray & white cat currently available for adoption at the Loudoun County Animal Shelter. "Now that my kittens have all gone to new homes, I am ready to find one for myself!"

One year old Christian echoes her thoughts. "Some people think black cats are unlucky, but I disagree," he says as he relaxes in his sheepskin bed. "Anyone would be very lucky to adopt a wonderful guy like me."

In addition to meeting these great cats, visitors to Cat-a-palooza will enjoy giveaways and free samples for their favorite felines.

So if you think you're not a cat person, think again! Come to Cat-a-Palooza, in the lobby of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St. SE, Leesburg, Tuesdays in June from 11am-1pm.
