Loudoun Home Builder and Winery Are the Feature of HGTV's Newest Dream House Series
The stars of the newest HGTV's Dream House series are local Loudoun residents! Award Winning Notaviva Vineyards and Ronald M. Hawes, Inc. construction company partnered to build the "dream" tasting room and living quarters for the Mackey Family.
Premiering October 4, 2008, at 7am, the eight half-hour episodes will feature the process from groundbreaking to move-in with all the trials and tribulations that went along with the journey.
According to the HGTV website, building their house is a dream, but finishing it might be a nightmare. Over a season, Dream House follows families as they crack through rocky terrain, battle the elements, build on extreme angles, contend with opinionated contractors and watch as their money is stretched to the max—to ultimately build their Dream House.
In April of 2006, Stephen and Shannon Mackey of Notaviva Vineyards (notavivavineyards.com) applied to be featured in the HGTV Dream House series. Once they were selected, there was over a year of filming which included the complete construction of the timber frame tasting room and house by Ronald M. Hawes, Inc. Construction of Lovettsville.
The beautiful tasting room and event site at the winery features a music loft which is an integrated performance stage located on the upper level of the hand-crafted timber frame room.
Ron Hawes (ronaldmhawesinc.com); a Loudoun native, is a builder/general contractor who specializes in custom timber frame and log homes. Known for his quality work, many of his homes have been featured in local magazines and home tours. In addition to the timber frame and log, Hawes also does custom conventional and hybrid homes, stables, barns and other structures, focusing on environmentally friendly building products. With over 25 year's experience, Hawes was the perfect partner to undertake the Dream House construction.
