The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital announced that it has $80,000 available to award in the form of nursing education scholarships. The application deadline is April 6, 2010.

"Grants vary in amount, but may be as much as $2,500," said Margaret Vaughan, chairman of the Ladies Board Nursing Scholarship Fund. "We are very pleased with the number and quality of the applicants this year."

Applications are available at the Twice Is Nice thrift shop in Leesburg, the Gift Shop at Inova Loudoun Hospital, and online at www.LadiesBoard.org.

Students must be accepted into an accredited school of nursing; either live or work in Loudoun County; include a written statement of financial need; show academic performance; and complete the requisite application. Full details are available by calling Ms. Vaughan at 540-338-6221.

Last year the Ladies Board Nursing Scholarship Fund awarded educational grants to 53 students. Recipients were enrolled in LPN, RN, BSN, second degree and MS in Nursing programs, along with doctoral students, throughout 15 higher education facilities.
