Architects Selected for Library Expansion

· By Daniel Morrow · From pages 5, 27 of the print edition

Dennis Cotter reported that the Middleburg Library Advisory Board had chosen Turnure Architecture & Design of Middleburg and Clites Architects, PC, both of Middleburg, as architects for the expansion of the Middleburg Public Library.

Both Tim Clites and Bill Turnure are well known for their work in and around Middleburg. Both have served on the Middleburg Historic District Review Committee; Turnure as its Chair. Clites has also served on the Town Planning Commission and the Board of the Middleburg Community Center, which owns the land and building which house the library.

Cotter reported that the Board was moving into Phase 2 of the library expansion plan, design and pre-construction, scheduled for completion in May 2012.

By September, the Advisory Board will formally begin fund raising (already, unofficially, under way). With good fortune the group hopes to have funds in hand by April 2012. If financial goals are met, actual construction on the addition will begin June 1 and be completed in December 2012.
