At some point during Town Treasurer Debbie Wheeler's recent medical leave of absence, the town discovered that long-departed former Mayors, Vice Mayors, Treasurers and Town Administrators remained on record as authorized signatories on the Town's checking account.

Council immediately resolved that, henceforth, only the current Mayor, Vice Mayor, Town Administrator and Town Treasurer would be carried on the bank's signature card and allowed to sign checks.

The Town Clerk was ordered to set up a tickler file that, in July of election years, would remind staff to make sure the signature card was revised appropriately.
