Water Treatment
The Virginia Department of Health conducted an inspection of the Town's new water treatment plant, funded by Salamander proffers.
According to Town Administrator Semmes, "everything looked good" and that only one more test of the purity of water stored in the system remained before the town received its first operating certificate.
Semmes also noted that the operating certificate would be issued in the Town's name, rather than Salamander's.
The property has at last, been recorded in the Town's name, she said. The Town now, officially, owns it.
Semmes reported that the new wastewater treatment plant was going through a permit renewal process.
The Department of Environmental Quality, she said, was, as legally required, advertising the permit renewal and soliciting public comment for thirty days.
