Bravo to the Middleburg Tennis Club Women's Team as they Advance to the U.S. Championships
Members of Middleburg's Women's Tennis Team have a lot to celebrate!
They recently were undefeated in local competition to claim the Shenandoah District League Championship. That win earned them a spot in the District (State) Championships at the Wintergreen Resort where they withstood Hurricane Irene conditions to defeat teams from Virginia Beach, Richmond and Northern Virginia.
The win in Richmond at the District Championships earned the Middleburg team entry into the Mid-Atlantic (VA, MD, DC, and WV) Sectional Championships that took place in August at Huntington Park in Newport News, Virginia.
Once again, the Middleburg team went undefeated, and they now head to the USTA National Championships October 14th to 16th in Indian Wells, California.
Players on the Middleburg Team include Captain Joan Eliot, Co-Captains Page Dimos and Stewart Herbert, Maria Eldredge, Kristin Byers, Patty Jarvis, Kelsey Leachman, Elaine Burden, Angie Prow, Kim Smithers, Martha Chapman, Barbara Hunter, KC Graham, Tammy Bullock, Lauren Woolcott.
