Hannah Sue Burnett & Harbor Pilot Bring Home Silver & Gold
Hannah Sue Burnett and Jacqueline Mars' eight-year-old Irish Sport Horse, Harbor Pilot, brought home an Individual Silver and Team Gold, Medal from this years Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
According to the USEF Network "Hannah Sue is just getting started, but at 25, her list of accomplishments would be enough to last some a lifetime." She grew up riding alongside her mother, Sue, in Shelbyville, Ky and at a young age developed an aptitude for the sport of Eventing.
In 2008 she began working full time with Karen and David O'Connor. David had brought Harbor Pilot along until he retired from competing and felt that this horse and Hannah Sue would be a successful pair. The rest is history.
Harbor Pilot is a product of Mrs. Mars own breeding program. Hannah Sue spends the winters training in Ocala, Fla and the summers in The Plains, Va. working for Karen and David.
Of her experience at the games Hannah Sue said "William" (Harbor Pilot) was a great competitor in Guadalajara. "As always I could count on him to do his best. I'm so blessed to be a part of this horse's life and I can't wait to see what the future holds. I cannot believe how far he has come. Being a homebred of Ms. Mars and going all the way through the levels with David to getting a gold and silver medal at the Pan American Games really shows the quality of the breeding and training program that Ms. Mars and the O'Connors have. I'm honored to be a part of it and so thankful to be able to ride for them. Karen and David truly made my riding and my career what it is today."
