On Saturday March 31, Hill School's "Teen & Team Saturday" went on a field trip to the National Mall's Cherry Blossom Festival to compete in the National Kite Festival! Sponsored this year by Japan . Joan Gardiner's 10 art students entered the Kite Festivals Competition's handmade youth kites ages 12-15 division with their beautiful handmade kites. The winners were announced as we were rushing back to catch the bus.1st place was Ernesto Cortes of Middleburg, 2nd place was Guadelupe Sandoval of Middleburg and in 3rd place Taylor Moore of Upperville.The National Kite Festival!
